Altarpiece Veil

Object of worship, belonging to the altarpiece, which is attached to the arches of the altar doors, both to the main and lateral ones. The Wallachian coat of arms - the cross-bearing eagle, framed at the bottom and top by the coat of arms of the Cantacuzino family - the two-headed eagle is at the centre of the embroidery, which is hand-worked with silver-gilt thread on a velvet fabric. The central motif of the composition is surrounded by a wide stitched border, decorated with acanthus vines, flowers, and leaves. TREASURY item.
