The cuffs are a part of the liturgical vestments (they are tied with strings). They are embroidered with silver-gilt thread on coloured silk. The theme of one of the cuffs is "The Annunciation", which is very often represented on these pieces. On a background that is entirely embroidered with silver-gilt thread, the Virgin Mary and the Archangel Gabriel are represented in a central medallion. The other cuff is themed "Saints Constantine and Helen". The entire surface of the cuffs is embroidered with floral motifs (peonies, tulips, carnations, acanthus vines and flowers etc.) and pearls. The rim is decorated with stylised floral motifs and pearls. TREASURY item.
